  • When is the best time to have your roof cleaned?
The best time to have your roof cleaned is in the spring, summer or fall. Many homes in and around Vancouver may need their roofs and gutters cleaned multiple times per year as overhanging trees and vegetation will clog up the gutters and result in overflowing water and potential foundation damage if left long term.
  • Is it safe to power wash my asphalt or fiberglass laminate roof?
You should NEVER power wash or soft wash an asphalt roof or fiberglass laminate roof as the pressure from the power washer will lift the shingles allowing water to enter the home. Power Washing or Soft Washing these types of roofs will also result in significant granular loss. These granulars protect the shingle from damaging UV rays which overtime if removed, will crack the shingle, and may result in costly repairs or the replacement of your roof For more information Click Here
  • Is it safe to power wash my cedar roof?
In most cases, yes, it is safe to power wash or soft wash a cedar roof, but it fully depends on the age and condition of the roof. Cedar Roof Cleaning should only be done by a seasoned, experienced roofer as cedar can be easily damaged if walked on improperly (cracked shingles) or the worker has the power washer wand too close to the shingles when cleaning, resulting in shingle and roof damage. Cedar is a premium roofing material that needs to be cleaned and maintained on an ongoing basis for maximum longevity. Click here to see our 5 Step Cedar Roof Restoration Process
  • Is it safe to power wash my tile roof?
Yes, concrete tile roofs can be power washed or soft washed, however it is critical to have an experienced, knowledgable roof technician that understands how to walk and clean the tiles without cracking them. Most times before any power washing or soft washing can be started, repairs such as cracked or missing tiles will need to be installed or repaired, also caulking and mortar may need to be applied to sections to seal up areas which could result in leaks if not addressed prior to cleaning. • How do you safely remove moss off asphalt roofs without causing shingle damage?
To ensure no damage occurs when having your asphalt roof cleaned or moss removed, we only use soft bristle brooms and other small hand toools to remove the moss gently from your roof-we do not use abraisive tools such as wire brushes or power washers as it will ultimately cause damage to your roof. We then apply our Organic, Chlorine-Free, Moss & Algae Roof Treatment to all sections of the roof, and in time the remaining bits of moss will fall off or disinigrate leaving your roof clean and moss free for years to come
  • Will my gutters be cleaned out when the moss is removed?
Yes, when we remove moss and other debris from the roof, we always clean out the gutters. This ensure's nothing is blocking or clogging the downpipe, which could result in overflowing water from your gutters and possible foundation issues if neglected year after year. Once the gutters are cleaned, we will replace/install downpipe filters if they are missing.
  • Do you use Bleach to kill the moss on the roof?
We DO NOT, and will NEVER use Bleach when treating moss and algae on your roof as it a harsh, caustic solution which kills plants, vegetation and is extremely harmful to animal and marine life. Our Moss & Algae Roof Treatment is an Organic, Chlorine-Free, Hydrogen Peroxide based solution which is completely safe to use anywhere around your home. This premium moss and algae treatment brings peace of mind to homeowners who grow vegtables or maybe have a small fish pond and are concered about the chemicals being sprayed to kill the moss on the roof Click here for more information about our Moss & Alage Roof Treatment
  • How do you apply Moss & Algae Treatment to the roof?
We gently apply a heavy coat of our Moss & Algae Treatment to your roof using a garden hose on the gentle "shower" setting, ensuring no pressured water lifts up the shingles causing leaks. Applying the moss treatment generally takes 2-4 hours depending on the size, height and pitch of the roof
  • Is your Moss & Algae Roof Treatment safe around plants and vegetation?
Yes, our eco-friendly Hydrogen Peroxide based Moss & Algae treatment is organic and not damaging like bleach. In fact, our moss and algae treatment is so safe, that we dont even need to pre-rinse or rinse off plants and vegatation after we treat the roof. This is the safest product on the market and provides amazing results year after year
  • Is your Moss & Algae Roof Treatment safe around children and pets?
Yes, our Organic, Hydrogen-Peroxide based Moss & Algae Roof Treatment is completely safe around your children and animals. Of course, we still ask that you keep them inside for the duration of the process just out of safety concerns (Ladders etc). Once we are done treating the roof, they are more than welcome to come outside to play again!
  • When is the best time to apply the Moss & Algae Roof Treatment?
Generally, the best time to apply the Moss & Algae Treatment to your roof is in the spring, summer or fall. The roof must be dry before application, and no rainfall in the forecast for 4 hours following the treatment of your roof. This gives the Hydrogen peroxide the time to penentrate and kill the moss and algae spores on your roof
  • Does the moss need to be removed before application of the Moss & Algae Roof Treatment?
Most times yes, however if caught early, and the roof has minimal moss growth, sometimes all that is needed is the application of the Moss & Algae Treatment. In time, the green moss will die off and turn brown and will gently be removed by each passing rain storm.
  • What type of results will the Moss & Algae Roof Treatment provide?
Final results are dependent on the age of your roof and the amount of rain the roof recieves as we depend on mother nature to gently clean (Black Stains) and remove the remaining bits of moss attached to the shingles left from the intial roof cleaning and moss removal. Trying to remove every morsel of moss on the roof prior to treatment would result in significant granular loss as an abraisive tool such as a wire brush would damage the shingle. If you have Black Stains on your roof, this is caused from Algae. Our Hydrogen-Perioxide based Moss & Alage Roof Treatment will lift up the black algae, and overtime, the black stains will start to fade away resulting in a almost new looking roof.
  • How long will my roof stay clean and moss free after application of Moss & Algae Roof Treatment?
After the application of our Eco-Friendly, Moss & Algae Roof Treatment, you are provided with a 2 Year Moss-Free Warranty. Depending on the amount of Moss, Algae (Black Stains), Lichen, or the location and condition of your roof, the application of the Moss & Algae Roof Treatment should be completed every 2-3 years to remain moss and algae free.
