The best time to have your roof cleaned is in the spring, summer or fall. Many homes in and around Vancouver may need their roofs and gutters cleaned multiple times per year as overhanging trees and vegetation will clog up the gutters and result in overflowing water and potential foundation damage if left long term.
You should NEVER power wash or soft wash an asphalt roof or fiberglass laminate roof as the pressure from the power washer will lift the shingles allowing water to enter the home. Power Washing or Soft Washing these types of roofs will also result in significant granular loss. These granulars protect the shingle from damaging UV rays which overtime if removed, will crack the shingle, and may result in costly repairs or the replacement of your roof

In most cases, yes, it is safe to power wash or soft wash a cedar roof, but it fully depends on the age and condition of the roof. Cedar Roof Cleaning should only be done by a seasoned, experienced roofer as cedar can be easily damaged if walked on improperly (cracked shingles) or the worker has the power washer wand too close to the shingles when cleaning, resulting in shingle and roof damage. Cedar is a premium roofing material that needs to be cleaned and maintained on an ongoing basis for maximum longevity.

Yes, concrete tile roofs can be power washed or soft washed, however it is critical to have an experienced, knowledgable roof technician that understands how to walk and clean the tiles without cracking them. Most times before any power washing or soft washing can be started, repairs such as cracked or missing tiles will need to be installed or repaired, also caulking and mortar may need to be applied to sections to seal up areas which could result in leaks if not addressed prior to cleaning.

To ensure no damage occurs when having your asphalt roof cleaned or moss removed, we only use soft bristle brooms and other small hand toools to remove the moss gently from your roof-we do not use abraisive tools such as wire brushes or power washers as it will ultimately cause damage to your roof.
We then apply our Organic, Chlorine-Free, Moss & Algae Roof Treatment to all sections of the roof, and in time the remaining bits of moss will fall off or disinigrate leaving your roof clean and moss free for years to come
Yes, when we remove moss and other debris from the roof, we always clean out the gutters.
